Lactoo

Personal Project
2026 – Present

Eating abroad with less guesswork

Lactoo started with another problem I experienced personally: traveling with lactose intolerance made unfamiliar menus, local dishes, and ingredient labels stressful. I built Lactoo out of love on weeknights and weekends to make those moments feel simpler and more manageable.

How it works

Lactoo is an iOS travel companion for people navigating lactose intolerance, milk allergies, or dairy avoidance abroad. It adapts its guidance to the user’s dairy profile and the country they are visiting.

  • Local phrases for restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets, with phonetic help.
  • Country-specific guidance for dishes that may contain dairy.
  • On-device scanning for milk, cheese, cream, and other ingredients on labels.
  • Optional arrival alerts and widgets that keep a useful phrase close at hand.

What I built

I designed and built Lactoo end to end, from the initial concept and to designing it to actual implementation and release. I created its onboarding and personalized dairy profile, country and language specific content, camera based label scanning, and location aware travel experience. Privacy was one of the most important factors while developing, so preferences and camera analysis runs on device, nothing is shared.
